MITSUBISHI Magnet Contactor of the Deck Crane Starter Panel

No.S-N125
The magnet contactor on the start panel of the marine deck crane is the core electrical component that controls the start, stop, and operation of the deck crane motor. It is mainly used to remotely connect and disconnect the main circuit, enabling frequent starting and control of the motor.

Description

Main Series and Characteristics

1. S-N series magnet contactor

The S-N series is Mitsubishi's traditional magnet contactor product line, which is widely used in marine power systems.

Rated range: AC 50Hz/60Hz, rated voltage up to 1000V, rated current ranging from 10A to 800A.

Model Example:S-N10、S-N11、S-N12、S-N18、S-N20、S-N21、S-N25、S-N35、S-N50、S-N65、S-N80、S-N95、S-N125、S-N150、S-N180、S-N220、
                              S-N300、S-N400、S-N600、S-N800.

Structural Features: The main contact is a normally open contact, and the auxiliary contacts typically include two pairs of normally open and normally closed contacts. The contacts are made of silver-tungsten alloy, which exhibits excellent conductivity and high-temperature ablation resistance.

2. MS-T series magnet contactor

The MS-T series is a new generation of Mitsubishi products, featuring a host of modern features.

Miniaturized design:
The 10-amp frame has a width of only 36mm, achieving the smallest width in the industry.

Integrated terminal cover: Equipped with a standard integrated terminal cover, featuring finger touch protection for safety.

Coil inventory optimization:
By expanding the applicable coil voltage range, coil inventory can be reduced by up to 50%.

PLC compatibility:
The auxiliary contact can operate under a minimal load of 20V 3mA, making it particularly suitable for direct control operations of PLC outputs.

S-N125 Load Capacity Selection Table (Key)

When selecting the model, it is necessary to refer to the following table based on the load type (AC-1 resistive load or AC-3 motor load) and the actual operating voltage:

Load Type Voltage Level Rated Operating Current Rated Power
AC-1 (Resistor/Heater) 220-240V 150A
55 kW
380-440V 150A 90 kW
500V 150A 120 kW
690V 150A 150 kW
AC-3 (Electric motor) 220-240V 125A 37 kW
380-440V 120A 60 kW
500V 90A 60 kW
690V 70A 60 kW

Selection Steps and Key Points

1. Determine the load type and current:
First, confirm whether it is a control motor (AC-3) or a resistive load (AC-1). The rated current and power of the motor must be less than or equal to the AC-3 values corresponding to the voltage in the table above.

2. Match coil voltage: Select the corresponding coil voltage specification (such as AC220V or AC380V) based on the on-site control power voltage

3. Check auxiliary contacts: The standard configuration is 2NO+2NC. If more contacts are required, it is necessary to confirm whether the installation of auxiliary contact blocks (such as UT-AX2/AX11, UT-AX4) is supported.

4. Considered operating environment: The temperature of the working environment should be between -10℃ and +40℃ (without condensation or freezing), and the altitude should not exceed 2000 meters.

5. Confirm installation method: Both screw fixation and 35mm guide rail installation are supported, to be selected according to the cabinet design.

Application Features

1. Environmental adaptability:
Capable of withstanding the unique vibrations, shocks, salt spray, and humid environments associated with ships.

2. Safety protection:
It can be combined with a thermal overload relay or an electronic protection relay to form a motor starter, protecting equipment that may experience overload during operation.

3. Reversible control:
Provide reversible contactor models (such as the S-2×N series) suitable for crane hoisting mechanisms that require forward and reverse rotation control.

4. Modular design:
Easy to install and maintain, and can be installed on standard IEC 35mm guide rails.

Mitsubishi magnet contactors have become a common choice for the electrical control systems of shipboard deck cranes due to their high reliability, compliance with marine standards, and good environmental adaptability.
