Working Principle
The main function of the oxygen sensor is to monitor the oxygen concentration in the gas and feed the electrical signal back to the electronic control unit (‌ECU) to adjust the air-fuel ratio of the mixture, thus achieving more efficient combustion and reducing emission pollution.
The basic working principle of the oxygen sensor is to use ‌ zirconia or titanium dioxide materials, under high temperature conditions (usually more than 300 ° C), these materials produce potential differences under the action of oxygen concentration differences. When the oxygen content in the mixture is higher, the potential difference is smaller. On the contrary, when the oxygen content is low, the potential difference is larger. This change in potential difference is converted into a voltage signal that is transmitted to the ECU.

The role of the electronic control unit (ECU) : After receiving the voltage signal of the oxygen sensor, the ECU will adjust the fuel injection amount of the injector according to the signal, so as to adjust the air-fuel ratio of the mixture, so that it is close to the theoretical value (about 14.7:1), in order to achieve the best combustion efficiency and the lowest emissions. ‌
