The Display Mode of Various Signal Lights (1) Masts: Lights placed above the mast of the ship or above the center line of the head and tail, showing uninterrupted lights in a horizontal arc of 225 degrees, and installed so that the lights are displayed from directly in front of the ship to within 22.5 degrees behind each beam.
(2) Side Lights: the red light on the port side and the green light on the starboard side placed on the left and right sides of the highest deck of the ship show uninterrupted lights from the bow to the stern in a horizontal arc of 112.5 degrees respectively. It is installed so that the lights are displayed from directly in front of the ship to within 22.5 degrees behind the beam of each side.
(3) Taillight: white light placed in the stern. A continuous light is displayed in a horizontal arc of 135 degrees and is arranged so that the light is displayed from directly behind the ship to 67.5 degrees on each side. The height of the mastheads shall be as level as possible with the side lights, but not above them.
